The honest starting point

Hostfully Guidebooks gives you one guidebook free, forever. So do we.

That is worth saying first, because it removes the laziest argument we could make. We are not the only free option, we did not invent the free tier in this category, and if you have one property and only want a guidebook, both products will do it and both will cost you nothing.

The comparison only gets interesting on two questions: what happens when you have a second property, and what the guest’s link does after they leave.

Price above the free tier

Hostfully’s published pricing starts at $7.99 per guidebook per month on annual billing, rising to $9.99 monthly, with bundled tiers above that.

Ours is €5 a month or €50 a year for the first property, plus €3 a month or €30 a year for each extra one.

For three properties that is roughly $288 a year against €110. The gap widens rather than narrows as you add more, because our extra properties cost less than the first one while theirs are priced per guidebook.

Both sets of numbers came from published pages at the time of writing. Both companies can change them, and you should check the current ones.

This is the structural difference, and it matters more than price.

Hostfully’s model is a guidebook you share. It has an address, and that address is the guidebook.

Ours is a link per booking. Each stay gets its own private address showing that guest’s name and dates, and it stops working after check-out — with a grace period you choose, up to thirty days. You can switch one off at any moment, or issue a new address if a link went to the wrong person.

The consequence shows up in the door code. Because a link belongs to one booking with known dates, the code can follow that booking’s clock: withheld entirely until the day before check-in, then present, then gone with the link. It is not hidden in the page and revealed with styling — before the reveal moment our server leaves it out of the page altogether, which you can confirm by viewing the source.

A permanent guidebook address cannot do that, because there is no check-out for it to be after.

What we treat as core rather than as extras

Three things ship here as ordinary parts of the product.

Guest registration, on Pro, with a form that asks the right fields for a Romanian ID card and different ones for a foreign passport, encrypted at rest and deleted automatically on a schedule you choose.

Arrival times, asked per booking, answered in your property’s time zone with the guest’s own clock beside it.

A cleaner link, permanent and separate, with its own task list and photo reports — built so it can never show a guest’s name.

What Hostfully has that we do not

An upsell marketplace, which is a real revenue line for hosts who use it. Extensive integrations with property management systems, where we have calendar import and nothing else. And the weight of an established company behind it, which is a legitimate reason to choose a vendor.

If those matter to you, they are good reasons, and we would rather you read them here than find out afterwards.

Choose GetAll Guide if

You have one to three places and the price above the free tier matters — €110 a year for three against roughly $288. You want each booking to have its own link that expires when the guest leaves, rather than one long-lived guidebook address. And you want the things around the guide that we treat as core rather than as extras: timed door codes, guest registration, arrival times and a cleaner link.

Choose Hostfully if

You want an established vendor with a large customer base and years of edge cases already smoothed out, you would like a guidebook that can sit alongside a full property management system later, or you want the upsell marketplace — a genuine revenue line we simply do not have. If you manage properties professionally and already live in that ecosystem, staying inside it is a reasonable call.

  • A genuinely free tier for one guidebook, forever, exactly as we have. They were doing it first.
  • The guidebook arm of a full property management company, so it can sit beside a real PMS if you ever need one.
  • Years of refinement, a large customer base, and a marketplace for upsells and partner offers that can earn you money.
  • Established integrations across the property management world, where we have none.

One guide. A private link for every booking.

It expires when guests leave. Writing the first one takes an evening, the first property is free, and there is no card to enter.
